How we choose

How kWhReady compares portable power stations: brand numbers, simple public sums and clear Amazon links.

We don’t test stations ourselves, and we never pretend to. Many sites talk about “tests” when they copy the brands’ spec sheets. We would rather say so.

Where our numbers come from

  • Specs come from the brands’ websites. When a number is missing, we leave it out instead of guessing.
  • Prices change all the time, so we don’t show them. The button takes you to today’s price on Amazon. To compare value, divide that price by the battery size in Wh.
  • How much power devices use: averages you can change in the calculator. Your device’s label is always right.

How we work it out

hours = battery Wh × 0.85 ÷ (device watts + 10 W)

And the station itself uses about 10 W while its outlets are on, so we add 10 W to your devices.

We remove 15% for losses. For fridges and freezers, we also check that the station is strong enough to start them.

What we will never do

  • Tell you to send a station’s power into a wall outlet or your home’s wiring.
  • Replace a doctor’s advice for medical equipment.
  • Rank a product by what it earns us.

How we make money

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. When you buy something after clicking one of our links, Amazon pays us a small fee. You don’t pay more.
